MRI Technician - PRN - Podiatry

Boardman, OH

This is a clinical position responsible for performing radiology exams specific to respective area of X-ray, Dexa, MRI, or CT duties. Work is performed in accordance with NOMS policies and procedures/applicable federal and state laws.  Effective performance requires independent action under general supervision. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complies with HIPAA and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Prepares patients for radiographic procedures. Takes images following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Maintains patient care, comfort and safety during transport to and from the coach and during the exam.
  • Prepares and injects contrast when needed for diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Logs procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
  • Maintains and cleans exam rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
  • May assist with the set up and tear down of equipment in accordance with SMS and/or manufacturers’ guidelines.

Completes necessary administrative tasks. ie: time reports, billing, QA, etc

  • Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
  • Knowledge of equipment including safety hazards common to equipment.
  • Knowledge of printing exams to CD/film
  • Knowledge of sending and storing images
  • Skill in positioning patients properly.

Education and Work Experience:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Certification.
  • Current Ohio License.
  • Required to maintain CE requirements.

Environmental/Working Conditions:

  • Combination of office and exam offices. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations. Hepatitis B vaccination and TB test required.

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • Varied activities including sitting, walking, stooping, lifting, bending, reaching. Occasional stress from workload. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment including phone, writing instruments, PC, fax and medical equipment including stethoscope, Xray machine, eye washing equipment, blood pressure cuff.
