Emily Merriman, DPM, AACFAS

Dr. Merriman is a fellowship-trained surgical podiatrist specializing in comprehensive foot and ankle care. A native of Steubenville, Ohio, she earned her Bachelor of Science with honors from the University of Dayton, majoring in Pre-Medicine and Psychology, with minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Medical Humanities. Following graduation, she dedicated a year to community service through AmeriCorps before beginning her medical training.

She went on to earn her Doctorate from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio, graduating with honors as a member of the Pi Delta National Podiatric Honor Society.

Dr. Merriman completed a rigorous three-year foot and ankle surgical residency at Heritage Valley Beaver Hospital in Beaver, Pennsylvania, where she served as Chief Resident. Her training encompassed a wide range of procedures, including forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle surgery, with an emphasis on trauma, reconstruction, and diabetic limb salvage.

She then further specialized through a Foot & Ankle Surgical Fellowship at the Foot & Ankle Institute in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she refined her skills in complex surgical techniques and comprehensive patient care.

Committed to staying at the forefront of her field, Dr. Merriman continues to attend advanced surgical courses and has presented at several national conferences.

She is board qualified in both Foot Surgery and Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) and is an active member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS).

Now thrilled to return to her home state of Ohio, Dr. Merriman is passionate about delivering compassionate, high-quality care to her community. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering locally, playing pickleball, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and her beloved cat, Biscuit.
