IT Systems Administrator

Sandusky, OH

Under the supervision of the Information Technology Director. This position provides system maintenance, system design, hardware configuration, administration and installation of servers, computer system hardware and software, including support and system monitoring. 

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage system infrastructure including, servers, databases, testing computer equipment, firewalls, malware and other software and hardware.
  • Create and manager user accounts.
  • Configure and manage routers, switches, servers, wireless LAN controller and access points, computers, printers and other multimedia equipment
  • Review, evaluate, make recommendations, install hardware, software and configure network connections.
  • Identify and resolve network, server, hardware and software problems.
  • Assist in support capacities including system administration, backup and recovery operations, network- server support, installation, and support calls.
  • Assists users to identify connection, hardware, software and procedural requirements.
  • Ensures that hardware, software and the network function efficiently on a daily basis and remains in safe functioning condition with appropriate backup systems in place.
  • Stays abreast of leading-edge information technology, network security, communications and healthcare software applications.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Experienced knowledge of data analysis, systems and network design, problem identification including but not limited to medical data processing.
  • Proficient in server and computer hardware, application software, voice and data communications including compatibility and system configuration.
  • Ability to be oriented to end-user support needs across multiple software applications and sites.
  • Security and system monitoring.
  • Maintain LAN/WAN design.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Minimum of two to three (2-3) years’ progressively responsible experience in information systems. Health care setting preferred.
  • VMWare, Hyper-V, MS Exchange 2013, Server 2012, Cisco networking and Active Directory administration required.
  • BA/BS in Information Systems preferred although technical experience taken into consideration.
  • Electronic Health Record and/or eClinicalWorks experience preferred

Environmental/Working Conditions:

  • Office setting and computer facility. Minimal exposure to communicable diseases.

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • Requires sitting for long periods at computer terminal, bending, reaching and stretching.
  • May involve lifting up to 30 pounds of light equipment.
  • Requires manual dexterity for operation of keyboard.
