Director of Operations - Full Time

The Director of Operations is the liaison between providers, senior leadership, office staff, and office administration.  This individual is responsible for the administration and application of all NOMS policies, procedures and protocols. Provides insight and direction to Office Leadership in regards to budgetary control while ensuring clinical goals are met.  This individual works with the physicians and office management to ensure the smooth operation of the office including directing, planning and coordinating of all clerical and administrative office activities.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works closely and effectively with the providers, advanced practitioners and office leadership to provide safe, high quality and effective patient-centered care
  • Build strong positive communications with providers and office leadership.
  • Establish and implement goals, policies and procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage daily operations and oversee department financial information to remain within budget.
  • Work directly with area managers to implement NOMS standardized workflow and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensures physician and employee compliance with all federal and state regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery.
  • Ensures compliance with NOMS corporate policies and procedures.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves work flow problems.
  • Provide direction and guidance for staffing needs, including training requirements.
  • Assist if needed, in the recruiting, hiring, orientation, discipline, development and evaluation of office staff.
  • Resolves operational problems and conflicts and keeps lines of communication open with staff and physicians to ensure high productivity and morale.
  • Participates in professional development activities to keep current in health care trends and practices.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality regarding patients and office.
  • Ensures that the office functions within and supports the NOMS strategic plan and directives issued by NOMS Senior Management.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and systems.
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
  • Knowledge of rules and procedures of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and various insurance payers.
  • Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA Compliance
  • Strong leadership, management, judgment and presentation skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and effective crisis management skills
  • Strong planning, organizing, multi-tasking, delegating and supervising skills.
  • Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures.
  • Ability to operate a variety of common office equipment and computer programs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all office staff.
  • Ability to set priorities among multiple requests.
  • Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff, and public effectively.

Education and Work Experience:

  • College graduate with a business or clinical concentration preferred.
  • Minimum five years management experience, supervising multiple offices, in a clinical setting required.
